Centuries ago, a man appeared
on Onondaga Lake in a white stone boat. Arriving at the shore, he told hunters,
"Peace is the desire of the Holder of Heavens. The word I bring is that
all people shall love one another and live together in peace."
You and I live in a world where the madness
and terror of war has been rampaging out of control for thousands of years. This is a background of unresolvable
pain in all human lives. It is in fact the defining characteristic of the incredibly ignorant time into which we
have incarnated. But... even if war has been here for as long as
we can remember - it does not mean that it will be that way forever. This is a remarkable time, and astonishing things are possible on both
the personal and planetary levels.
If war and oppression were to end and the
resources that they consume were turned towards creating sustainable
society - almost nothing would be beyond human attainment. What a shame it would be, to be so close to the possibility of love and then to destroy ourselves instead. It may seem an impossible task to awaken from the nightmare of history, and yet we have no choice... it is the next step in our evolution as a species. We must overcome our heritage of violence. Otherwise, we will use our incredible intelligence to destroy ourselves.
The main story in the book 'Return of the Bird
Tribes' is the Native American history of 'the Great Peacemaker'
Deganawida. Inspired from youth with a vision of uniting 5 warring tribes
together in peace. He spent many years visiting the council fires and
speaking on behalf of the Great Law of Peace that unites all of us as
one family.
The warriors saw him as a troublemaker
who was weakening their resolve to fight. After attempts to kill him failed dramatically, he eventually succeeded in inspiring them with the Truth of Peace.
Many hundreds of years later when the white men arrived the 5 tribes
were still enjoying a highly successful and truly equitable system of government.
Deganawidas story and the history of the Iroquoi tribes provides a wonderful example of a proven system based on the 'Great Law of Peace'. The prophecies of the Rainbow Tribes that come to us from the traditions of the Native Americans are also a source of hope that the world may yet awaken from the nightmare.
In the last century humans have reached a crisis point in evolution.
We have taken from the Pandora's box of science the knowledge of how
to destroy ourselves, and potentially our entire world. It is inevitable
that any species that develops technology will eventually discover this ability, and there is
no way that we can go back. Even were we to dismantle all your weapons
and somehow eradicate the knowledge of how to build them - we would
eventually discover them again.
The fault lies not in our science or even in our weapons, but in ourselves.
If we do not solve this problem, if we do not change/awaken/evolve
to a new way of being, then it is only a matter of time before we consummate
our nightmare and destroy ourselves along with all that we have loved
and cherished.
The apparent process of evolution by natural selection has finished
for our species. There is no way that genetic adaptation could possibly
keep up with the pace of technological change. Therefore a new process
that could be called 'Conscious Evolution' must begin.
We have all been born into a world where the great majority of people are hypnotised and believe in stories that are not real. Stories that are told to them by authority figures who subconsciously fulfill the role of parents.
Peace is a natural state, and yet for as long as we can remember
our world has always been at war. War between tribes, war between individuals, war between the governments
of nations: all of it caused by identification with the temporal self,
the false sense of 'I', the ego of the body/mind. This is the nightmare
that the masses of humanity have been trapped in for thousands of years.
This is the sleep from which we must all now awaken or die.

whose roots spread through the whole Earth
without regard for border lines on human maps.

War
must end. The time has come when weapons of mass destruction can
no longer be acceptable to human societies. This must surely come
as no surprise, and yet it is remarkable how often you forget
its importance and focus on other things such as the need to recycle plastic bags! There can be no planetary awakening without the end of war
being accomplished. All other problems will be almost trivial if this one is solved. To end war requires, and yet paradoxically also allows, the whole healing of the human heart.

forward, or back? There is no other choice. You have tried to

ready to accept your mission, the one that was given to you before

peace? Say YES! Say it loud enough that you may hear it. No one
else need know. Only you. Only your soul.
You have been called to be a bearer of peace in this world of
