Is there a connection between the Rainbow Warrior prophecies
and the Return of the Bird Tribes?
In
one sense the BirdTribes are not different from the Rainbow Tribes as they are both 'the
people of Truth', 'the people of Peace', 'the ones who did not join the Warrior
Tribes', the ones who kept the knowledge in their hearts that we are all
related - children of the same Grandmother Earth and Grandfather Sky - humble before the majesty of Creation and the awesome beauty of the Great
Mystery.
The return of the Bird Tribes is the return of the angelic consciousness to the human realm on a global scale. The awakening of the Rainbow Warriors is the arising of people of all lands to stand for Peace and the defense of the Earth. We see the two as being inseparably connected and essential to the planetary awakening that must happen soon, whether it is in 2012 at the end of one of the Mayan calendars or not.
For more about who the Bird Tribes are see our page here and for more about the Rainbow prophecies see below.
The
Rainbow Warrior prophecy finds its expression in the peoples who call themselves the Rainbow Tribe or the Rainbow Family of Living Light. The Rainbow Tribe is made up of people from everywhere coming home together as one human
family gathering together on the land. There
have been gatherings called Rainbow Gatherings since at least 1972,
and since then there has been at least one large gathering of the tribes every
year in the US on public land around the 4th of July.
Many gather to pray for peace and healing in the world. There
are also gatherings in many parts of the world, in different countries
and continents, and even world gatherings. There are many local
and regional gatherings throughout the year. Some are timed with
solstice or equinox or other special times and seasons.
A rainbow gathering is different
for each person. You will likely find people actively creating positive community
with one another, learning and teaching ways we can live in harmony
with nature, our mother earth, and each other... and celebrating life
together. There is no formal organization or leadership. It is felt
by many to be contrary to the spirit of the gatherings. It is said
that any one with a belly button may consider themselves part of
the rainbow family, and that even a belly button is not really needed.
We are welcome home as one family.
By consensus no one represents or has the
right to speak on behalf of the tribe

~ RAINBOW TRIBE ~ Prophecies
There
are prophecies that speak of the rising of a tribe of Rainbow
Warriors during the time of hopeless darkness. (Whether they are genuine Native American prophesies or not
is controversial - but whatever their source - they are imbued with genuine prophetic and poetic power and vision - and as you will see below they are supported by a wide range of traditional elders).
The first quote we have here is from the traditional Faithkeeper of the tribes that still live by the Great Law of Peace that was brought by the Great Peace Maker.
Oren
Lyons - Faithkeeper of the Turtle Clan,
Onondaga Council of Chiefs
of the Hau de no sau nee
"We
don't preach here, in this, our country. We don't proselytize. We
try to... as a matter of fact... we try to protect what we have from
intrusion. Yet
at a meeting that was held in Hopi back in 1969, when we sat there
with many Indian leaders from around the country, spiritual leaders,
and they talked about these young people who were sitting on our
doorsteps every day when we got up and they had come from all over
the country and they were coming to be an Indian or they were coming
to learn something about us. And we said, `This is a very strange
phenomenon, that our white brother's children are now coming to
our doorstep and wanting to be part of us. What do we do with this?'
One of the Hopi elders said, `Well we have a prophecy about that.'
And he said that there was going to come a time when they're going
to come and ask for direction. Maybe this is what's happening. So
it came under discussion and it was agreed upon at that time that
perhaps this may be true. And if it is, then we should be more responsive
then, to the questions. And we should maybe try to help. To see
what we can do. To pass on whatever we can, however we can. "
"We
are now. We are now. Now is us. We're the seventh generation. I'm
sitting here as the seventh generation because seven generations
ago those people were looking out for me. Seven generations from
now someone will be here, I know. So each generation makes sure
that seven generations is coming, all the time."
There
is truth in the prophecies of the Rainbow and the Rainbow people.
People from all of the Americas will unite with people from all
the other nations, and they will realise that we are all Family,
brothers and sisters. This is not my personal vision, but the cosmic
vision presented by all the elders, a vision that we all share.
- Don Alejandro Cirilo Perez, president of the Maya Elders Council
in Guatemala, keeper of the calendar and the prophecies of the december solstice of 2012
As
Native Americans, we believe the Rainbow is a sign from the Spirit
in all things. It is a sign of the union of all people, like one
big family. The unity of all humanity, many tribes and peoples,
is essential. - Thomas Banyacya, late spokesman for the Hopi traditional
elders from Hotevilla
This
difficult time has seen the beginning of a new nation of multicolored
beings. The seeds of the four directions have mixed together to
create the first Rainbow people. It is written in time and in the
memory of the Indian peoples that our sun will rise again, that
we will be able to reestablish our culture: its arts, sciences,
mathematics and religion. Mayan knowledge will come forward again.
It is for this reason that we, of the Amerindian communities, are
once again uniting to reestablish our entire culture. - Hunbatz Men,
hereditary keeper of the Mayan tradition
Native
prophecies say that mixed-blood and white people who grew their
hair long and wore beads would come to the Native healers and ask
for guidance... The prophecies say that they would return as the
Rainbow people in bodies of different colors: red, white, yellow
and black. The old ones said that they would return and unite to
help restore balance to the Earth. The story of these Rainbow Warriors
is told by many peoples in many different ways. We feel that we
are in that time now when the Rainbow Warriors are coming about.
So it is a time where we have to acknowledge that we are all human
beings upon the same planet and that's what the Rainbow Warriors
are all about. - Sun Bear, late Ojibway teacher and founder of the
Bear Tribe Medicine Society
In
this prophecy, these people would wear feathers and beads and communicate
with the flowers. The flowers would guide them and support them
as they walked their life paths... This also would be a time when
all the esoteric teachings of the world's traditions will be revealed,
so there will be no secrets, no reason to fear each other, or to
be in conflict. This is certainly what is happening now. Not everyone
has the strength or disposition to be a warrior. Many are Rainbow
Walkers... They are walking across the Rainbow bridge to a new
time. - Oh Shinnah, medicine woman from Tineh (Apache) , Mohawk
and Scottish origin
We
have the opportunity to build a Rainbow bridge into the Golden Age.
But to do this, we must do it together with all the colors of the
Rainbow, with all the peoples, all the beings of the world. We who
are alive on Earth today are the Rainbow Warriors who face the challenge
of building this bridge. - Brooke Medicine Eagle Daughter of the
Rainbow, Crow and Lakota medicine woman
The
Rainbow is a form of illumination for mankind... One of the signs
that our elders looked for in ancient times was a perfect Rainbow,
a perfect one... Some of our old people could summon up the Rainbow
the way the Native American medicine people could bring the rain.
As soon as the Rainbow appeared, our elders would look at it closely,
carefully, for little flaws. Were all the colors perfect? Did the
Rainbow arc from one place on the Earth to the other or was it incomplete?
They'd size it up carefully. That way they would see if Boamie,
the Rainbow Serpent, needed something, if it was damaged or incomplete
in some ways... The Rainbow will be perfect again as soon as the
Sacred Hoop closes, as soon as the Golden Circle of the new world
is complete... The Rainbow will again encircle the Earth perfectly,
as it was in the beginning. - the late Lorraine
Mafi-Williams, spokeswoman
for the Council of the Australian Aboriginal Elders from Wollumbini
In
the time of the Seventh Fire, a New People would emerge. They would
retrace their steps to find the wisdom that was left by the side
of the trail long ago. Their steps would take them to the elders,
who they would ask to guide them on their journey. If the New People
remain strong in their quest, the sacred drum will again sound its
voice. There will be an awakening of the people, and the sacred
fire will again be lit. At this time, the light-skinned race will
be given a choice between two roads. One road is the road of greed
and technology without wisdom or respect for life. This road represents
a rush to destruction. The other road is spirituality, a slower
path that includes respect for all living things. If we choose the
spiritual path, we can light yet another fire, an Eight Fire, and
begin an extended period of Peace and healthy growth. - Extract
from the prophecy of the Seven Fires of the Anishnabe, written on
the ancient wampum belt carekept by Grandfather William Commanda,
named Chief of the Indians of the Americas in 1957, and founder
of the Circle of All Nations
~ An Archetypally True Story ~
Claimed to be a 200-year-old prophecy by an old Cree woman named Eyes of Fire. Lelanie Stone relates the following story that her grandmother told her when she was a young girl.
There was an old lady, from the "Cree" tribe, named "Eyes
of Fire", who prophesied that one day, because of the white
man's or Yo-ne-gis' greed, there would come a time, when the fish
would die in the streams, the birds would fall from the air, the
waters would be blackened, and the trees would no longer be. Mankind
as we would know it would all but cease to exist.
There would come a time when the "keepers of the legend, stories,
culture rituals, and myths, and all the Ancient Tribal Customs"
would be needed to restore us to health. They would be mankind's
key to survival, they would be known as the "Warriors of the Rainbow".
There would come a day of awakening when all the peoples of all
the tribes would form a New World of Justice, Peace, Freedom and
recognition of the Great Spirit.
The
"Warriors of the Rainbow" would spread these messages
and teach all peoples of the Earth or "Elohi". They would
teach them how to live the "Way of the Great Spirit".
They would tell them of how the world today has turned away from
the Great Spirit and that is why our Earth is "Sick".
The
"Warriors of the Rainbow" would show the peoples that
this "Ancient Being" (the Great Spirit), is full of love
and understanding, and teach them how to make the "Earth or
Elohi" beautiful again. These Warriors would give the people
principles or rules to follow to make their path right with the
world. These principles would be those of the Ancient Tribes. The
Warriors of the Rainbow would teach the people of the ancient practices
of Unity, Love and Understanding. They would teach of Harmony among
people in all four comers of the Earth.
Like
the Ancient Tribes, they would teach the peoples how to pray to
the Great Spirit with love that flows like the beautiful mountain
stream, and flows along the path to the ocean of life. Once again,
they would be able to feel joy in solitude and in councils. They
would be free of petty jealousies and love all mankind as their
brothers, regardless of color, race or religion. They would feel
happiness enter their hearts, and become as one with the entire
human race. Their hearts would be pure and radiate warmth, understanding
and respect for all mankind, Nature, and the Great Spirit. They
would once again fill their minds, hearts, souls, and deeds with
the purest of thoughts. They would seek the beauty of the Master
of Life - the Great Spirit! They would find strength and beauty
in prayer and the solitudes of life.
Their
children would once again be able to run free and enjoy the treasures
of Nature and Mother Earth. Free from the fears of toxins and destruction,
wrought by the Yo-ne-gi and his practices of greed. The rivers would
again run clear, the forests be abundant and beautiful, the animals
and birds would be replenished. The powers of the plants and animals
would again be respected and conservation of all that is beautiful
would become a way of life.
The
poor, sick and needy would be cared for by their brothers and sisters
of the Earth. These practices would again become a part of their
daily lives.
The
leaders of the people would be chosen in the old way - not by their
political party, or who could speak the loudest, boast the most,
or by name calling or mud slinging, but by those whose actions spoke
the loudest. Those who demonstrated their love, wisdom, and courage
and those who showed that they could and did work for the good of
all, would be chosen as the leaders or Chiefs. They would be chosen
by their "quality" and not the amount of money they had
obtained. Like the thoughtful and devoted "Ancient Chiefs",
they would understand the people with love, and see that their young
were educated with the love and wisdom of their surroundings. They
would show them that miracles can be accomplished to heal this world
of its ills, and restore it to health and beauty.
The
tasks of these "Warriors of the Rainbow" are many and
great. There will be terrifying mountains of ignorance to conquer
and they shall find prejudice and hatred. They must be dedicated,
unwavering in their strength, and strong of heart. They will find
willing hearts and minds that will follow them on this road of returning
"Mother Earth" to beauty and plenty - once more.
The
day will come, it is not far away. The day that we shall see how
we owe our very existence to the people of all tribes that have
maintained their culture and heritage. Those that have kept the
rituals, stories, legends, and myths alive. It will be with this
knowledge, the knowledge that they have preserved, that we shall
once again return to "harmony" with Nature, Mother Earth,
and mankind. It will be with this knowledge that we shall find our
"Key to our Survival".
This
is the story of the "Warriors of the Rainbow" and this
is my reason for protecting the culture, heritage, and knowledge
of my ancestors. I know that the day "Eyes of Fire" spoke
of - will come! I want my children and grandchildren to be prepared
to accept this task. The task of being one of the........"Warriors
of the Rainbow".
